Just like baby bumps come in all different sizes, newborns also come in all different sizes, as evidenced by the weight of some of the heaviest babies born in 2017! The Guinness World Record for the heaviest baby goes to Giantess Anna Bates’s 22-pound son, who was born at her home in Seville, Ohio on January 19, 1879.
Even though these women didn’t break the world record for birthing the heaviest baby, their newborns are still worth mentioning!
This Florida mom, Chrissy Corbitt, gave birth to a 13.5-pound baby girl. Her baby, Carleigh is reportedly already wearing clothes meant for a nine-month-old and using size three diapers.
Kelly Corsetti from Sacramento, California also welcomed a baby boy, weighing in at 13 pounds, 11 ounces! He was natural birth and despite his size, Corsetti’s said her labor only lasted a little more than 2 hours.
Cindy Richmond and Arthur Keisler’s baby boy weighed in at 14.4 pounds and was 24 inches long. Their newborn son, born in Lexington, South Carolina, is about the size of a typical 4- to 5-month-old!
Although not in the United States, another notable mom in Australia gave birth to a 13.5-pound baby without an epidural! The new mom, Natashia Corrigan said, “They had to get a few extra staff members to come in and help.”
All of the babies in this post are healthy and happy! We think these big, beautiful surprises could definitely use some of our MD Moms products! 🙂
